Do you think if you fail an algebra question, they keep giving you only those types of questions to lower your score???
I recently took GMAT and I was upset because over 75% of my questions were straight algebra only, no fractions, no geometry, no decimals. None! I will retake the exam and I will focus my study on algebra only since it seems to me - this is what they test. Is this normal? Anybody have had similar experience or know somebody with such experience? I expected more orless equal amount of questions in algebra, geometry, fractions, decimals et cetera. |

Interesting... but I don't think that GMAT would specifically give you algebra questions because you missed the algebra questions. I believe that GMAT would say that they truly want the test to reflect your abilities.
GMAT doesn't classify questions only by whether they are based on algebra, geometry, etc.; they also classify them by how hard they are to interpret. It sounds like you had a bit of bad luck. I'd bet that the next time you took the test, you got less alegebra than you did this time. However, I don't think it'd be wise to focus only on algebra. If I were you, I'd practice all question types, but make sure you're comfortable with algebra. Do you recall your quant score? It'd also help to know that to give you more insight into how the test works. Hope that helps!! High score, high score!! Erin Erin Billy TestMagic.com San Francisco, CA USA |
