My Countdown BEGUN -- 14th MARCH

Hi
Anybody giving GMAT around 14th March ??

Making a schedule right now. On and off I have prepared
for the GMAT for quite some time now.

Two tests taken:

Kaplan Diag : 590, 650(second)
Kaplan 1 : 590 (M 50, V 28)
Kaplan 2 : 560 (M 50, V 24)

I know that these are not reflective in any manner of the real score
but they are good for practice.

What, nobody appearing for the test aroud that time (march) ??

Am attaching a doc that might be useful.

Incidentally I am also taking the GMAT on March 14th ..I have just given the PP I without any prep and got a 740 ( Q 49 , V 40 ) ... I think it would be best if you took a POWERPREP test rather than a Kaplan test ..check out the diag test at the beginning of Official Guide ...its pretty accurate

You have cracked the first test you have taken.
You are a 750 + guy. I'm sure you can easily score above
that.

I am planning to finish off with the KAP tests first because everybody
recommends so. By the end of January.
I have the following Kap material
800 KAP
Kap 2006
Kap verbal workout
Kap writing.

My verbal section is weak, esp RC. Slow reading speed gets me
into lotta trouble with the timing as well as accuracy.

Will take the PPREP in Feb first week. Though results would not be a true
reflection as I have started Official Guide.

I'm confident though on the quant. But its just the last day that matters
and how well it goes there.

You know anything about GMAT in 2006. I've heard lots that SC's are around 20 in number ! That's a lot. And i guess spending more time on SC's
can be rewarding.

You must have taken the GMAT by now. Share your experiences if you may please.

Although i was a memeber since Feb but was very irregular with my studies.I am a Joe blogg kind of average student.

nothing much to share i got just 610 in my first attempt in July.
Feeling depressed and urgency to devote time for some personal issues made me leave my prep then but now again gearing up.

I was unable to manage the time both in verbal as well as in maths.
Poor mental Stamina,
Poor time management (esp RC in verbal and DS in maths )
unability to solve difficult maths questions in less than 2 mins
let me down.

Ok.

I think 610 is not that bad a score and it can be really improved
to 670 + range.

As of RC, am bad at it too. Dun worry, practise makes a man perfect.
That's the only way to go isn't it.

Just gave a KAP test. Scored pathetic on the Verbal

560 Math 50 Verbal 24.

Now, verbal is a big prob with me. Esp SC's. Or I think its Kaplan that's
taking me down. Maverick is right. Probably I should take the PP right now.

I don't think you have taken the date as of now. The only way to prepare
is to take a date well in advance and then prepare or else there's a tendency of taking it easy.

Take a PP or GMAT Prep and then start your prep. Although I have not done that, that's what is recommended.

DS is a prob till you don't practise. So give it lotsa time and analyse as to why you got it wrong.

My aim is to improve upon my verbal section esp SC's, heard there are around 19 questions from SC alone !

but first i aim to finish maths section from kaplan and then attempt a GmatPrep.

march is a yearly appraisal time , so i cant take my work lightly in march thats y i hv not booked my dates as yet.

Can you please tell thy experience of the test when you took
it for the first time in both MATH AND VERBAL.

How is it ? and how difficult and different is it from Official Guide.

Are there any KAP type questions even when u r at a good level ?

i got lot of DS questions.

Verbal was Official Guide level but maths was tough.
