Hi Aditya,
Just like you, I am a beginner too! I have just completed my first dignostic Gprep test last weekend and scored a 590 (V:33, Q:39), without studying anything. You can download one from www.mba.com after registering. (you don't need to enrol for GMAT in order to that) I think it is a good idea to take a test before getting started as one can see the areas one has to brush-up. I have committed a lot of silly mistakes that I could have avoided . I am going to give myself a 'good month' to study before I taking more tests. Depending on the results I'd be registering for the actual GMAT.Do keep me posted on your studying methodology! Rachita

Newbie
I am a newbie as well...
I have been through the GRE experience and 2 years of graduate schooling...one thing I can say for sure is that it is hard to quantify the time needed to prepare for the test...it just varies from person to person... Personally, my recommendation would be to take the test once you have consistently hit the desired score during prac. tests.... I am shooting for August... |

Hi Guys, I am beginner myself based in Sydney. The first book I laid my hands on was Maths Review from Princeton. I thought I will pick an easy one for a start. I got 560 too in my PP1 test which I gave without any preparation. It was a shocker. I have finished the Maths Review (Princeton). Got two more books, OG11 and Cracking GMAT(Princeton). Planning to finish Cracking GMAT(Princeton). I wanna do OG last as it is a more accurate representation of the questions we might encounter in GMAT. I have just ordered KAPLAN800, OG-Verbal and OG-Quant as well. Aditya, I think the moderator Erin is against people sharing stuff like Kaplan on this forum as it is a copyright violation and probably rightly so. All the best to all of you. Wishing you roaring success in your exams. Do keep me posted with all the difficult problems you get. A team-effort can wonders in terms of the sheer amount of resources we can amass. |

Any suggestions for Verbal
What kind of grammar study are you people planning?
I gave my GRE a few years back, but verbal was pretty easy....as compared to GMAT. Does GMAT require in-depth knowledge of the technicalities associated with English? Thanks Gan |
