I am taking the GMAT in one month...any valuable advice?
Hi guys!
I am going to take the GMAT on April 30th. After some preparations (about 1 month) I took the GMATprep this morning and got 570...(Q32,V35). I am aiming for 650 at least...first question: Do you think it's possible? Any experiences of crawling out of the low levels to decent scores? And the second thing is that my quant/ math skills aren't that good...I've been working with the OG a little and the questions there seemed much easier than the ones I encoutered on the GMATprep today. So would you guys be so kind and give me any advice on how to improve the quant part? The problem is I can easily cope with the...easy problems (I know how stupid that sounds), but once the level of the questions goes up...I crash. So, if you have any words of wisdom, good resources..please let me know!!! Thank you!! |

Kuba,
Dont worry you are doing great. Still full 30 days to go and the score you have got is good enough for you to work on towards desired score. I would advice you to take at least 1 test ( Full Fleged ) In a week and that will help you in getting rid of test phobia..which is very normal to happen after your first test. Keep on giving test...remember ultimatly it is TEST which is going to take you through. As I think you are having all the needed weapons with you Like OG and all. Cheers Bizmaster |

i think you should ignore the first hundred or two questions in the OG... they are too easy... target the hard stuff... Dont worry if you find it hard - it is supposed to be! Just make sure you invest the next 30 days in learning how to tackle each question type.
Dont waste time on easy questions.... stretch yourself and you'll improve your score... If it was easy - everyone would do it! So go for it and keep us posted... |

Difficult Quant
Quote:
Some Quant questions may really eat up a lot of time, and other ones may be conceptually difficult. If you are having problems with the conceptual part, then I suggest that you take the time to understand the content first. The speed will come once you know how to attack the difficult math problems. I don't know your background, but I know I had to do A LOT of studying for the math part. Still not done....... |

Thanks for the advice guys! I really appreciate it. I do push on hard math problems, which I get from various sources. I hope this will lift my score. I still have some time, so I hope I can make it
![]() Anyway...I find the GMAT math problems very interesting...they're more of riddles than actual complicated math tasks, don't you think? |

Thank you all for great words.
I am a bit frustrated...I took the Princeton Review test and got...550 (Q37, V28). And I don't get it, cuz I made only 3 mistakes in the first 27 questions of M section... Plus all of the good scorers considered PR tests easy, and scored 700+... |
