What are my chances?

Hello Everyone,

I am new to this forum. Just started preparation for GMAT. I want to know my chances of getting into a top business school:
Here is my profile:

Education: Ph.D in Electrical Engineering (Not a top tier school)
GPA: 3.81
Work Experience: 1 year with a leading chip manufacturer as an engineer (Will have 1.5 years more by the time I start applying for Business Schools).
I do not have much community activities for club activities.

Please let me know.

I'm not an adminisions consultant but on paper you look like a good candidate.
I think some schools MAY say something about your work experience. I know in Canada they want 2+ years....just a thought.

You sound like a good student. I think whats important is how you write your application essays.

1.5 years experience is a bit less but you can stress on your PhD. in the essays.

there is no sure shot formula of getting into a b-school. however, a good gmat score (above 650 atleast) and a good background (like commendable research or contributions in your job) can better your profile.
