Hi there, I am planning to take my GMAT for the first time two days from now after only one week of preparation.
I'm wondering in case I mess up and decide to take GMAT again years from now, will universities take a look at my score record and see that I have scored low on my first try and discriminate my application on the basis that I needed to take GMAT multple times to get a good score while another application only needed once? Your prompt response is appreciated! |

From everything I have read, re-taking the GMAT less than 4 times should not hurt your chances as schools will only count your best score. If you think you can take the test within a week, and score well, go for it. However, if you do not think you are going to do well, than you are just wasting your money. At the very least, I would take the PowerPrep test at least once to gaugue where you are. It's free and you got nothing to lose except a few hours.

Interesting. I always read that for 5 years, all your scores will show up. It makes sense since I have read on school publications that some frown on people who take the test more than 3 times. How would they know, if they could not see the scores. I am not sure on this though.
