To get at least 700 score on GMAT

Hello all,

I am planning to get prepared for GMAT and take the test in October/November. My goal is to get at least 700. However, I had taken it in the past (3 years ago) and did very poorly (390) because I did not prepare for it at all.

I want to try again but this time I have about 5-6 months. What books do you advise to use to make the best out of my time and increase my last score from 390 to at least 700. Also, what preparation tips do you advise me to reach that goal?

Thank you for your advice.

hello everyone,

i need your advice: what GMAT test i should take to determine where i stand currently? I want to know my strengths and weaknesses first before I begin my intensive preparation for the test.

@Gugandra
GMAT Prep 1 & 2....should be true evaluator to test yourself. I 101% agree, knowing one's weakness is very important to do focussed study.

@effective_factor
being weak in everything.......is far easier situation, then you can start with anything
If I were you, I will pick quant and SC......they are the areas you can most improve on.....atleast after one month of practice you can not say that you are weak in everything.
note: One month practice = 2 hrs/ weekday and 10-12 hrs/weekend or more.

I think scorpion's advice is great because you focus on what you can improve hastly, then when you feel confident enough with the test you can try other tougher areas.
