Just curious, does the "difficulty" of Kaplan vs MGMAT vs Real GMAT depend on your score level? For instance, if you're scoring 500, X test prep may be harder then real thing... but if you're scoring 700, then Y test prep is harder then the real thing?

Kaplan prepares you for tougher secions and builds your speed even though its not reflective of actual GMAT. So if you do kaplana and then move to any other resource , you will get high score.

For the MGMAT practice tests, I think it depends on the person. I've seen a few who have gotten similar scores on the GMATprep and the real GMAT, while others have gotten much better scores.

I myself have score almost 100 points lower on the MGMAT vs. the GMATprep.

I agree with munna2002 in that Manhattan gmat is a pretty accurate measurement of how you're going to do on the actual gmat. I scored 670 on manhatten and 680 on the actual gmat.

Also, personally i think GMATprep is a bit harder than the actual exam.
From my experience, GMATprep + 20to40 points = actual GMAT

I took my first GMAT yesterday and I scored a 770 (50 Q, 46 V). I took an MGMAT practice CAT earlier this week and got a 640 (44 Q, 36 V), so don't be discouraged if you didn't score well in practice. I think the key for me was getting lots of sleep and really focusing during the test. Good luck all!

Congrats bulldog09. You really rock man.

Yesterday, I got lowest ever score in MGMAT test (not lower than kaplan though) and people have been quoting this test as comparable to real GMAT. This is why I started doubting whether I am realy read for this test.
But I think I can get hold of things again.

Thnx.

Hey, np. I think the main thing about the GMAT is really to focus during the test and not get too nervous. I felt like I had the necessary skills to do well on the GMAT, so I was a bit bummed out by my MGMAT practice test. Then I went into the GMAT with the full intention of cancelling my score at the end (if I didn't feel comfortable about my performance after the exam). Ironically, I think this carefree attitude made me perform better than I had on my previous practice tests -- I was actually about to select the "Cancel Scores" option, but I thought, what the heck, the b-schools will see that I sat for the exam on this date anyways -- and lo and behold, a 770. So, I think you just have to be in the right mindset.

Good luck with everything!
