Pathetic score in Kaplan CAT test and 800score! please help

HI all,
I gave the Kaplan GMAT higher score CAT Test 1 today and got a dismal 560. My breakdown for the score is following.
560 (64% tile)
Math-22 correct, 15 incorrect (Scaled score-37)
Verbal-23 correct, 18 incorrect (Scaled score-29)
Now I really do not know where I stand. I must admit that I have not completed OG-10, OG-11 along with quant and verbal review books and I am only one month into preparation. I just finished the quant part of OG-11.

And I gave 2 tests from 800score.com (only quant)
Test 2 – 24 correct out of 37 (section score -37)-52% tile
Test 3- 22 correct out of 31 (ran out of time with 5 qns guessed at the end).
Guys please give me some feed back looking at these above scores.
Sincerely appreciate your help
Thanks all

subarao - KAPLAN gmat is way above the real test in terms of difficulty. One main difference between KAPLAN gmat and real test is that KAPLAN tests multiple concepts in a single question while real gmat does not. It has been said that you can safely add 100 points to your KAPLAN score. MGMAT tests are next best to GPREP.

I think you should take it calmly 'cause your prep just started, and you took a more difficult CAT.
Stay focus and self-confident.
Good luck

Thanks rawjosh for your encouraging words. From where I can find gprep? I have not registered for the exam yet. Can I download the test from the GMAC site without registering for a date?

goto mba.com. Register yourself and download the GMAT prop software. It gives you two free CAT tests. Attemp only one test and gauge your performace. Donot blow your second one before putting some serious effort in practice. GMAT prep is THE best and the closest thing after real GMAT test.

Don't think about the Kaplan score. It's a good book for gaining knowledge. But the tests are preety useless. Thanks,Sandip

Hello Subarao,
There is absolutely nothing to worry about the low scores you have received in kaplan tests.
Infact i never got above 650 in kaplan but ended up with 770 in real GMAT. So dont waste time in analyzing why you got less marks in test. Instead go through the wrong ones and if you still have any doubt, post it on this forum and discuss it with your forum buddies.

I found kaplan's math really easy. It can never be so easy on real test. Pay more attention to verbal section.(of course, all this only for practice)

As advised by rawjosh, get yourself registered for GMAT and download GMATprep ,give one test and see where you stand. Nothing comes close to the GMATprep.
Goodluck
