What books are you using?
Hello All,
I know I'm probably on a different wavelength than all you smartie pants folks, but I'm hoping you could help me anyway. My goal is not to get a 700+ score on the GMAT. I've never been a skilled test taker and I'm perfectly fine with that. Instead, I'm shooting for a 600+ score. On my practice tests, I was experiencing great sucess until...well...I wasn't. Here are the practice test scores so far:
Diagnostic: 420 (yikes...)
Kaplan Cat 1: 500
Kaplan Cat 2: 560
Kaplan Cat 3: 530
Kaplan Cat 4: 520
GMAT Prep 1: 480
You can see my cause of my frustration, right? I'm proud to say that I'm comfortable with the essays (B.A. English) and I'm finally making friends with CR & RC. I know my problem is Quant and I should just study Quant till I'm blue in the face, but is there something else I should be considering? My test is in less than 2 weeks.
Let me know...
Thanks All! I really appreciate it.

ks3523,
I think that just about everyone spends more time studying Quant than anything else, so your experience will likely not be any different. I don't know if you have the Official Guide or not but it has a lot of good Quant problems to practice. You might need to review the fundamental Quant concepts though (I know I did!) if I remember right, I used the GMAT for Dummies book for basic Quant review.
Hey All,
I'm happy to report that I'm back in the game. I took the second GMAT Prep Cat tonight and scored my highest yet in Quant! Since Saturday I've been studying math like crazy - so much so that I've been dreaming about numbers/formulas/etc. Seriously.
Thank you for your support. Its good to know that something is working - finally!
TestTaker - I'm using Kaplan materials and the Official Guide. Unfortunately, I don't have time to use anything else as I work full-time.
Hopefully I'll have more news Thursday night.![]()
