    GRE or GMAT

I am a little confused with staying on technical side or moving to the business side. Here is my short profile:

    Undergrad: B Tech in CSE
WorkEx : 5 years in Software Engineering(With 2 years as a Consultant in US)

My interest is in CS, but I the problem is devoting 2 years to MS and getting back might be a difficult choice to make.

    Any Suggestions plzz...

so,what is your question? Do you want to know whether you have to give GRE or GMAT?
If it is CS then definitely GRE; other courses such as Master's in management etc will need GMAT.

Some schools do accept GRE in place of GMAT, but only do this if you received high scores are high in the GRE.

Take GREs if you have to choose one. Probably half of the business schools I look at (for PhD Business) are accepting GRE (for my field that is, which is management). If you're thinking MBA, there are some that stiill require GMAT online. If you're goal is to maintain flexibility in standardized tests, then GRE is the test for you.

Personally, I took GRE and GMATs, GRE for my MA, and GMAT for PhD, because my GRE wasn't high enough and I felt I had a better shot at the verbal section. Also one of the two tests may be more suited for your style of testing.

Things to consider, hope it helps.

GRE general test is mandatory for CS. Some schools may also require/prefer subject GRE for computer science
