Depending on the type of work you want to do at the NGO, an MPP, MPA, MPA/ID, MA Econ or MA ARE would be better than an MBA. The top MPA, MPP and MPA/ID programs have excellent placements in NGO's, and while the MBA is intended for people who want to work as business managers or in finance, the MPA and MPP degrees are designed for people who want to work at NGO's and Govt agencies in a variety of capacities. If you want to be an economic analyst, then the MA Econ or MA ARE might be more appropriate.
