i am currently studying in the last year of mechanical engineering at Mumbai University (India). my scores are as follows:-
average of six semesters so far:- ~75% GRE score:- 1500 (V=700, Q=800) TOEFL score:- 116 i have no extra curricular activities to brag about. the recommendation letters too are going to be ordinary and trite. i want to apply for MS in aerospace. can anyone please tell me what are my chances of getting into the following universities? which ones can i be hopeful about? which ones are way out of my league? what are the other universities to which i should apply? any information will be highly appreciated. 1 Illinois 2 Michigan 3 Texas at Austin 4 Purdue 5 Texas A & M 6 Princeton 7 Penn State 8 Minnesota State 9 Ohio State 10 Virginia Tech 11 UC-Irvine 12 Colorado Thank you in advance. |

Thanks for your reply. I have prepared a new list now, it is as follows:-
(no. in bracket gives the overall rank acc. to US News 2009 report) University of Illinois - Urbana Champaign (5) University of Michigan - Ann Arbor (9) Purdue - West Lefayette (12) Texas A& M University (14) University of Maryland - College Park (17) University of Minnesota - Twin Cities (23) Penn State University - University Park (23) Virginia Tech (27) University of Colorado - Boulder (40) As you have said, I too feel like adding 1 or 2 safe universities, but I'm not sure which ones to consider safe. Do you think it's a good iea to remove University of Michigan - Ann Arbor (9) and instead apply to University of Florida and University of North Carolina? Can you suggest any other safe university? Thanks again. |

So no other change is required to the list? I mean, do you think that I'll get an admit for sure in one of these? Of course no one can be sure but at least do you think I have good chance of getting into one of those?
And can you suggest some safe universities please? Thanks. |
