Please Evaluate My Profile(Phd/MS in Pharmacology)
10th - 94%
12th - 90% B.E in BioTech , MIT, Manipal -CGPA( as of the current semester 7th sem ) - 8.02 GRE- 1160 ( 760 Q , 400 V) Internship in the Energy & Resources Inst on using aerobic and anaerobic bacteria for large scale production of ethanol Internship in the Dept of Genetics Delhi Univ(South Campus) on Transgenic tomato.. Gene maniplulation to increase shelf life 6 months internship Next semester in Bio-Gen on phase three clinical trials and its basically camber drugs I am the President of the Music and Fine Arts Club and have been awarded in many other literary events . I wish to pursue MS/Phd in Pharmacology. Do I need to retake GRE? Should I be applying to first-tier or 2nd tier univ? Could you please help me in shortlisting the univ based on my profile . |

Your GRE score can hamper your chances a bit but with a good score in TOEFL you can to some extent cover you verbal score. You have a 'consistently' good academic profile. Before applying for PhD I would strongly recommend that you try to get a publication or participate in a research project(undertaking a reserach based final year project is an option). This would show your research potential and interest.
I think you stand a decent chance of admission in schools ranked 20-30. If you get a publication and improve your GRE score it will improve your chances for a higher ranked school. Good luck |
