Your percentage isn't tat great... Not to discourage you, but universities don't just look at gre scores... A person who scores 1600 and has an average gpa cant get into the top tier universities.!
Anyway u can try
Hey everyone,
I just gave my GRE and my score came out to be 790Q and 580 V. Overall satisfied with the score, except the fact that i think i scored a tad less in Verbal section. Anyway, what's done is done.
Now I have a grad percentage of 65% and I have done my majors in Computer Science Engineering from a college that ranks like 4th or 5th in Delhi. Overall a pretty decent college and an average percentage.
Being a fresher and seeking admission in 2012, I would work in an IT firm for the next 9 months.
I have a few publications but most of them are conference based and are not really research, but theoretical. Apart from that, I have held positions of responsibility in college as well.
I don't think SOP and letter of recommendation would be an issue with me and the college as well.
Keeping this background in mind, kindly rate my chances of getting through a GOOD school, not average. I for once think, its not wise to spend 50 lacs on an average school.
Oh, how is Syracuse by the way? And amidst the growing concerns regarding jobs in USA, is it wise to go for MIS right now? What other courses can I target apart from MS in CS. I don't have interest in coding as much.
