    Master's in Math or Econ?

So I'm about to graduate but haven't though about grad school til just now. As a result I've slacked on my GPA, but have good marks in recent math and econ classes and have 2 strong letter of recommendation. I've gone to a pretty decent CSU, not renowned but not terrible. I'll just let me stats talk I guess:

B.A. in Economics, Minor in Math (+64 units Mech. Eng. and passed FE Exam)
GPA: 2.68 (I plan on getting this above 2.7 with a summer math course and its for 180+ units)
    GRE: (170Q, 162V)

2 years high school math/physics/SAT tutoring Experience
2 solid recommendations (One from my boss @ tutoring center, 1 from a prof, although I can get 2 more from profs if needed)
and a couple awards and wins in high school math contests (good for interviews/essays?)

Basically I'm trying to get into a math or econ M.S. program but don't wanna do University of Pheonix and I don't know where I can get in with a GPA like that, I know I could do the material and provide good essays/interviews. (schools in CA would be best although I'd consider leaving for the right school)

Thanks for any help or recommendations,

If you're truly interested in Math, I have an idea that might work. Most Master's in Mathematics programs require you to submit the scores from the General GRE exam and the Math Subject GRE exam. If you study hard and do exceptionally well on the Math Subject test, this will help you a tremendous amount! Keep pursuing your dreams, and don't let your history stop you! Good luck

If you want to go for economics PhD, you're going to have minor in math, might as well get a major. Both will be fine for a finance career, your GPA will matter more than major choice.
