Job prospects with MA Econ? School choices too.

Hi,

I've read other posts in regard to this topic but I would like more information.

I know that many people join think tanks, consulting, and finance but what other careers do graduates pursue? In terms of finance, what types of positions do they end up with? Moreover, for international economics, do most graduates conduct research? I enjoy studying economic development and international economics but I'm not sure if I want to make a career out of it.

I got accepted to UCD (ARE program), JHU (MS Econ) , Vandy (GPED), GWU (MA Econ), and UCSB (MA Econ). Which schools are better with wide career options?

There is tremendous opportunity after you pass MA in economics from top-ranked university. Salaries vary greatly, depending upon the field you go into. If you're in economics, you could either be a researcher/research assistant. Besides types of jobs, the MA-PhD difference also counts in one for the job. Phd programs often offer partial or full financial aid once you complete first year and high salary.
