Hi all,

I am applying to top schools for computer science PhD this year.

If I want to do campus visits to my desired schools, who should I meet? If I meet my prof/s, how would that help if he/she is not in the adcom? Some professors I contacted keep telling me that as a matter of policy and fairness, they do not recommend potential candidates to the adcom.

And if I want to visit to make an impresssion to the adcom, how to go about it? What should I say? Anyone can help? I'm in a dilemma.
