![]() well mechqwert the thing with Umich is that its acceptance rate is really low... i think i have a chance really... i think attraxion is right abt trying for for minesotta.. i think its speciality is Operations research.. even rutgers would be cool.. attraxion im tryn for some kind of 3+2+2 thing.. i think applyng to places like JHU or even Rutgers will be good cos i think they have no appliction fees or some thing :P Bond.. my bro is in JHU.. it is as good as an ivy league school.. in robotics its ranked 4th nationaslly... n its soecialities are Computational Dynamics, Robotics etc... Just trying my luck out there.. n hey thank u soooo much for thy opinions on my list ![]() Right now guys im thinking abt schools like Pennstate, Univ of Maryland. colg park. bostn univ (i dont think too highly ranked for mech) clemson n drexel.. dono how good my chances are in those.. @aks-u can try universities like penn state-university park(highest ranked among diff. penn states),maryland-college park(highest ranked among U Marylands),& wisconsin-madison(highest ranked among U Wisconsins).they all are in top 20.drexel is in top 50,i guess.good news is that it doesn't have app. fees
A TIP:-if u want to know the rankings of a particlular college then type grad rankings in the search bar in the home page.every university has a page which gives details of its US NEWS rankings.so u get to see the rankings for free.US NEWS charges $$ for the detailed rankings. @attraxion-minnesota is not even near Michigan-Ann Arbor.Minn is ranked around 25th whereas Mich is ranked 7th in Graduate school rankings.Mich is ranked 2nd in top public Universities, just below UCB.it's in top 10 in every field like-law,Biz,engr,pharmacy,etc.It's reputation is mind blowing.my bro's friend said he didn't get a job 'because of U MINN but 'because of IIT.he too had done MS in MECH. from Minn. & took 3.5 yrs to complete his MS.as a result no job.now he has got a job, which is a temp. one & is related to OPT. |

yep u can get admits to all of them xcept CMU & JHU.
CMU's CS programs r rated as no1. in US. also for JHU,I would say u have 50-50 chance for getting a admit. u said thy bro was in JHU.u can ask him to help u get an admit to JHU. I'll say to get an admit from a top 20 college with aound 40-50% aid is the best, than getting into top 50 college with full aid or into top 10 college with no aid. |

Hey bond, I was talking about the mech rankings... in that, AFAIK, Minn is 6th..
Hello aks, its going great, thank you... Great that you posted all these univs that don't have any app fees... but they would still cost you money in the form of score reporting of GRE, TOEFL etc.. so one cannot practically add all to the list I guess... There was one I heard about, that does not even ask for GRE scores (only asks for xerox), forgot the name..best, Attraxion. |
