Plz Evaluate My chances
Guys here is my profile:
kindly go through it and help me in making my decision  Undergrad GPA: 3.77 (Calculated as my marks/ highest marks * 4) Percentage: 79% No Backlogs Class rank: 5/60 From: Osmania University In India GRE:: 790q + 650V total: 1440/1600 AWA yet to get. and Toefl hoping il make a 270 I have 2 good recos.. one frm a small time assistant professor but a grt letter and another frm 2 profs which are nice...all of them have good contact with me' As far as statement of purpose is concerned i dont think its a prob i have applied for following after my gre:: Texas A & M Michigan State University Arizona State University University of California Santa Barbara I intend to do my MS but have no probs with a Phd also.. So what do u think are my chances?? which universities do i have a good chances of making it into?? Thanx a lot  |

well chances are pretty good!
u should try and apply to some top univ like umich , purdue ,uta (hopefully u'll be able to pull it out ,but the aid scenario is rather grim for ms) btw i am in mech too also tell me sth about thy projects and publications . |

cool yaar! nice to meet a mechi n that too frm india! well i donno if i hav much of a chance in purdue, etc etc mainly cos i havent yet given any paper presentations, but i have began my work in a robotics project for 4th year with my prof... hope i do some good work n then apply soon... another thing is im frm a colg affiliated to Osmania... not the univ itself as such.. so lets c... i was told the most imp thing is that passion.. il try n work.. n hey im very comfortable with phd.. so il try n apply to some good ones.. n i hope i get pakka i20+ funding!!! in one of 4 above wats up with u?? where r u frm?? thy profile por favor, El Señor! |

i know.. its so ironic.. its easy to get into MS but hard to get aid, and its easy to get in Phd but so hard to get it !!!
Well il n do some good work now n try n shoot up my chances as much as possible!Thanx for thy guidance its such a biggggggggg help! |

I don't know much, but a mech senior of mine, here at NIT Allahabad, got last year into the MS program at Minnesota... his profile was quite similar to yours...
and he got full aid (TA)... best, Attraxion. |

well univ of Minnesotta is terrific yaar! i mean its 17th in US news mech ratings.. so pretty cool i guess.. but im not sure how much thy seniors NIT thing bovine mastication have added to his profile!
