Hi,
I had my GRE on 12th March - scored 1280 ( Q760,V520 ). I wish to do MS in Electrical Engineering. I understand that GRE is only a minor factor that counts towards my admission. So, here is my biodata: - I am currently doing final year undergraduate course in Electrical & Electronics engineering from College of Engineering, Trivandrum, which is considered the #1 college in our state. Infact, many people say that it is on par with the IITs as far as the lab facilities in Electrical engineering is concerned I am having an aggregate of 77% till now.- I am doing my final year project at VSSC-ISRO ( Indian Space Researc Organisation, similar to what NASA is to the US ). - I have been placed in Cognizant Technology Solutions ( CTS ) as a part of on campus recruitment. I am intending to work for a year or two before I am apply for MS. Will this work experience be an asset? What do you think? Do I have a fair chance at getting into a good school? If my GRE scores are low, then I can retake the GRE since I am not applying this year. Regards, Anand |

I'd have to say take the test again, depending on the level of school you're shooting for.
I don't really know much about about Indian schools, so I can't advise on that. However, this year is turning out to be a tough one for grad school applicants, and even very strong applicants are not getting into programs of their choice. We stilll don't know what next year holds, though. Everybody was hoping that this year would be easier than last, but it doesn't seem to be happening. Let's hope things ease up a bit next year! |
