Milamber
Hi everybody... Having passed the GRE nightmare I am now in the process of actual application and I have an important question: Some universities like U-Michigan for example, wants the applicant to send a "Financial Statement" showing that he/she has enough funds for the first year of study, interestingly, WITH the application. The question is: Can I send the affidavit indicating that I have absolutely "0" funds (which is really the case) and stating that I depend solely on aid from the university ? Will they consider my application in that case ? Thank you very much for your answers...
cridamour
They will consider your application. Just make sure you have a bank statement indicating that you really have no money. What would be a good idea is to show that you intend to apply for external scholarships or that you already have done so. Make sure you explain in a letter that you are active about procuring funds, and you're not expecting them to throw you all they have. They might fund you completely, but chances are low for that, so you need to thing of a contingency plan, otherwise you might end up not being able to go.
