Finished GRE and TOEFL this week-1270(Verbal-470,Quant-800),223-280.

Hi evryone,

Not an active member but ofcourse a passive onlooker.

toefl-223-280 and expect 5-6 in essay.
gre-1270 with 470 in Verbal was really a great disappointment.
800 in Quant was surely a saitsfying score.
Hope to get 4.5-5 in essays.
This was my second take.In 2003(senior yrs of my undergraduate at IIT Roorkee,India), I had got 1240(460,780,4.5).

I had aimed at a Verbal score of 550 upwards this time but it turned out to be a great fiasco on the day of GRE.

Anyways past is past and now I hope to enhance the effect of other factors to get admits from the US universities.

I just needed the advice from you earthlings in my application procedure.

Undergraduation from IIT Roorkee,India.
I have 3 projects in Wireless Communication(field of my interest and in which i intend to apply).
Was awarded with Best Undergraduate Project.
Had participated in CSIDC (but cudn't make it to final 10 after crossing the first elimination stage)

Hopeful of nice recos.
GPA of 8.3/10 in IIT grading systems.
Currently working as software engineer in CSC,India( www.csc.com) .
Had a distinction of "Distingushed Performer" in my company.

Hope to apply in top 30s universities.

Have already sent the report to UIUC,UTA,U of Maryland College Park and U of Duke.Considering more of top 20s and some top 30s.

Please rate my chances given my Verbal is less than the avg required.
