Yeah. I just found out that UIUC has a cult/gang of professors from MIT after getting accepted. (Wonder how that happened!) Another new discovery is that their website claims that they gave admission offers to only 7 students out of 204 (or roughly 1 out of 30) last year. That's quite flattering to know.Originally Posted by don_ny01

Emory's interview ain't gonna happen till late March, although I have an internal (i.e. Georgia Tech) scholarship interview this Sunday. In any given interview, I just take it easy and stay true to what I really think in answering whatever the "committee" asks. I don't do much preparation, but I do make sure I get to tell them what I want them to know. Actually I was the chairman of the same scholarship select committee last year, so I did learn from the mistakes made by the applicants. Having been on the other side of the table, I think it's easy to tell whether you really mean what you say. So honesty and sincerity count. Also, staying clam and cool adds a lot of impression points. My skin has grown real thick after all these years of teaching and public speaking, so I don't get nervous easily. Unless you try to shoot me in the face. LOL! (Sorry I just can't get over with the Cheney jokes.) That's my generic strategy.
I'm no authority on the interviews, so let's not see mine as any advice. Good luck on the interviews!![]()

No clue. Please give me another two weeks or three to figure it out. The all-that's are still taking their time, including Wharton. And speaking of which, I didn't even attach the right SOP in my Wharton application. (A huge screw-up. Later I contacted the secretary and emailed her my "correct" SOP.) So I wonder how I still haven't been rejected.Originally Posted by Bamboochiken

These entries are not helping. All from Gradcafe today:

I guess no news is good news for me.

Hi all!
I am an international student and I am applying for PhD in Finance and Econonomics.
I got some offers, but I am particular inclinated to go accept Chicago GSB ( Finance ) or Princeton (Economics).
I really don't know what to do...
Do you think that in a PHD in Economics I can get a stronger micro-background?
And the university enviroment? Is that true that Chicago GSB is freaking competitive?
And Job Maket? at Chicago homepage I could get the last 10 year placements and looks good, anybody knows how to get Princetonīs job placements?
Thanks....
Chicago GSB (Finance),Haas ( Finance), Princeton(Economics), LSE(Economics).
Wharton(Waitlist-good chance), NYU Stern(waitlist-small chance)
Stanford(Economics), Harvard(Economics), MIT(Economics)
