are there any econ applicants from William and Mary here?
I just wonder who somebody from William and Mary got recommendation letters from. (I go to the college now.) Seems like there are not extremely famous professors at this school. (because we do not have graduate school) I might apply for gradute school in two years.

I don't think this is something that will reduce your chances. William & Mary has an excellent reputation overall and if you have a good GPA and GRE and the LORs are glowing (even if they are from less well-known professors in the field), there is no reason why you shouldn't still be able to get a great admit at a top school.

cridamour nailed it. regardless of where you go, the process of getting LOR's is more or less the same. you find professors that know you well and that can speak well to you abilities. the earlier you get to know them, the better. what you don't want is a professor writing you a letter saying 'person X got an A in my class, but other than that, I don't have anything to say.'
besides, if it is any consulation, a very small percentage of students go to schools where they have the luxuries of having Mankiw as a prof....or even Don Campbell. ![]()
