When they say notified by postal service...

Does it mean that the whole grad packet is sent or only just an admission letter with the graduate packet sent later?

My theory is that if you don't get a courier service package but only a normal letter through regular mail, you've been rejected.

well, if undergrad admissions are any indication, then they can send whole admit packets through the mail, so just cause it's not a courier service doesn't mean it's not an admit packet. A small letter is a bad sign though.

Well, I don't think that the schools care that much to "express-reject" some applications; express mail will mean (at least) not a rejection.

Most schools don't spend that much money on Grad students (in general). Usually, postal acceptances have three paragraphs: one to congratulate you on your acceptance (or rather that you've been recommended to the graduate school for admission), the second to discuss money and the last to to discuss "rejection of offer" terms. The letter has one or two pages.

Plus, size doesn't matter. All of my acceptances (last time) had this form, but one of my rejections included an application packet so it was huge.

Asphalt, as far as my experience goes, even acceptances come by regular post and contain only the letter of acceptance and a form establishing inent to enroll. no other stuff with it, they say they will send the rest once u submit the acceptance deposit.

So size doesnt matter afterall...atleast when it comes to grad school decisions
