    Smile LSE Masters in econ

Big relief, I've been accepted to the LSE masters in econ. I've applied to twelve schools and I reckon that is probably the worst of the lot, and let me tell you, my profile is not as stellar as most of you around here. So here's to hoping that I can deceive the adcoms a bit longer.

Since I didn't do my undergrad in econ, I applied for the two year program. Problem: no scholarship. The LSE and London are expensive. Does anyone know where/how/what I could get in extra funding?
Maybe I am thinking of this a little too early. I haven't heard back from any of the others, but I see that Harvard and MIT are coming up with admits...

    Congratulations!!! Excellent admit!
Perhaps they will send you the financial aid decisions later?
Isn't there any NGO such as the World Bank that you could convince to support you? Of course, it depends on your specific research interests.

I am in at msc (research) - one year, it's my safety school.... Well, yes, london is expensive, and even if you had applied for 1 year, you would have ended up with no scholarship...so this is certainly not the reason...they are just a cash cow...

If you are from EU you can apply for esrc award...if you are from less developed country, check for unesco or world bank.... you can obtain all information on British council's and LSE financial support office's websites

Congratulations. I have applied for the PhD in econ and my second choice is the Master's. When did you finish your application? Is the LSE admissions process rolling?

Thanks, it was a big relief. At least, I am in somewhere. I like the idea of a masters rather than a PhD: it's a sort of trial period. But, if some of my other schools accept me, PhD: here I come!
Economicus: I'm Australian and French but I don't qualify for EU fees. Would an esrc still be possible? I'll contact them to see what I could get.

Sen: I applied to the masters with the view of doing a PhD later (SOP says so). I have been accepted since the 3d of Feb but didn't know it! Have you checked the tracking website?

    congrats albertalla

Unlike you my lse econ app. was my top choice as im going for masters only..I received my adnission (1 yr msc) a while back but only sent in acceptance last week.
Like you Im australian and really dont have much of an avenue for funding..I applied to chevening (british council) and csfp commonwealth but had no luck..

I suggest you check out your undergrad school uni website to see if there is anything available to students of your uni...

At LSE MSc Econ there is no UK/EU - international student dinstinction for fee purposes; everyone is supposed to pay ~14,700 GBP.
