Princeton economics reject
Emailed the secretary of the program who told me I wasn't on the list, and that I should be receiving a letter by the 15th.
Come on admits!

How annoying. I wish all schools would just email. I got into johns hopkins (bloomberg sph) but didn't know it til a week later, and I still haven't gotten the letter allegedly mailed out 10 days ago.
Snappy, you said Stanford & Columbia via post. I didn't apply to either for econ, but what do you mean, decisions were posted online? Did they email you & give you log in info to check the website? |

nope, just standard postal service. two thin envelopes. Columbia dated 2/28, postmarked 3/2; Stanford dated 3/1, postmarked 3/3.

Sorry, mex, I'm not sure what the procedure is at either Stanford or Columbia. The dept secretaries may be able to help you in that area.

I sent an email to Columbia regarding my status, and this is the Graduate Administrator's reply:
"I cannot tell you the decision, but I will say you should be optimistic.Your letter will be sent out today." How should I interpret this? ![]() Last edited by reactor : 03-07-2006 at 07:24 AM. |

I think that it was a general advice to live your life by thinking positively; be being happy and by "making love and not war". (!)
I'm just kidding. If we take it literally then it means that you are in. It may be the case, however, that the graduate administrator is completely lost and prefers to give fake hope to an applicant than to disappoint a potentially admitted students. Wait and see. How long can it take for the letter to reach you?
