No admission, no rejection, no waitlist...
As I see in this forum and others (thegradcafe), some schools have already sent admission, rejection and (a few) waitlisted emails. PSU, Michigan State, Columbia, Minnesota, Georgetown, UIUC, Maryland. I have not received an admission email (message taken crystal clear) nor did I receive a rejection email. But I have not received a waitlisted email either. I understand that no-answer is not an answer here. So, what is it? Do international applicants run in a different track? Any hints?

I am a domestic student and am in the same situation with regards to Penn State, Georgetown, UIUC, and Maryland, although I did hear from Michigan State today. Just hold tight--you're not the only one in the situation! Best of luck...

I guess we're all in the same boat. According to PSU's grad secretary, they've sent the first round of admits yesterday and are still reviewing most of the applications. Considering that they only take less than 15 students (based on previous stats and their commitment to low class size) while they've received maybe more applications than they expected, we're kinda lucky they haven't rejected us on some arbitrary basis and still carefully sifting through our apps (at least this is the impression that was given to me!)!

Well I am in the same boat with regards to USCD. After the inital blast of acceptances last week, I have still heard nothing. It is getting to be a bit nerve wracking. I have also not heard from Columbia, which is strange given I live in NYC and mail doesn't even take a day to get from them to me.
This not hearing is really starting to stress me out.

I am getting freaked out too. Nothing from UMD. Got into UC Davis but no word on funding, despite the fact that I have heard a lot of people talk about recieving funding from Davis already.
<- this is me holding my breath until my face turns pink and I pass out.I was wondering if applying for the NSF delays acceptances and/or news about funding since if you win they could considering letting you in without funding. Any thoughts? Out at Maryland! <- This is me exhalingLess concerned about not going there than about what it means for Cornell, Columbia and NYU. *starts mumbling to self about how getting rejected one school with a lower ranking than another school has no implication* Found out by checking this website http://www.testudo.umd.edu/apps/gradapp/ as opposed to the 'apra' website Last edited by no one knows : 03-07-2006 at 03:59 PM. With regards to Maryland, check the website. My status now appears...rejected. My guess is that they're wrapping up their notifications. About UC Davis, I was also told that aid decisions are forthcoming and have not yet heard anything. Fortunately I'm a Cali resident, so I can swing the cost of the first year if I have to. In (Aid Pending): UC Davis, Texas A&M In (No Aid): Michigan State Out: Vanderbilt, Maryland Pending: 15 |
