Okay. So I think I am turning in the Econ PhD applicant version of John Favreau's character "Mike" from the movie Swingers (also featuring Vince Vauhn et al.). You know, the guy that has to check his voicemail every 5 minutes to see if his ex-girlfriend might have called. Even when he is already chatting with a perfectly nice girl a bar.

This is basically me right now, with respect to my PhD decisions. I get really antsy if I can't be around the damn internet. So I check my email, then check the forum, then my email again. And if I go out somehwere, the first thing I absolutely have to do is when I get home is check my email. Now I've started emailing depts that haven't sent out admits to "check my status." I've even called a few on the phone.

Hopefully this post will make sense to those that have seen the movie. At least the movie had a happy ending.

I was watching that like a week ago. Vince Vaughn looks soooooo young.

Totally makes sense. The only thing with Mike is that he is talking to better prospects than what he's got.

haha i scared the postman today. I thought he had left, and I quickly opened the door to check the mailbox and slammed the front screen into him. I apologized and tried to explain that I was waiting for my graduate admissions to arrive. He didn't seem very impressed.
