Weird... I got two copies of the exact same email telling me that I got a fellowship. One last night, one tonight. You think this means I got two?

I received both emails as well. Maybe they forgot to send the first email to everybody. I'm happy with one fellowship...though I won't turn down more free money

fellowships from Vandy and OSU, but no money from MSU? what gives?

Thanks Larami! Michigan State has a tendency not to give funding to students during their first year. My undergraduate institution has not sent many people off to econ grad schools, but the one place where it has sent some people is Michigan State. I think (as the story is told around here) that the last guy that went there was not offered funding as well, but he was offered a TAship at the last minute. I was told that if I applied to Michigan State, then I should not expect funding the first year. However, they might offer me an additional year of funding for the dissertation.
