Being a Young PhD (mainly for economists)
Hi guys,
Just a quick question for you: for a person aiming at a career in economic policy oriented research (say at IMF, WB, etc..), which one do you think is more important?
Look forward to your responses. ~DismalSci. Last edited by reactor : 03-10-2006 at 07:38 AM. |

I think both are probably feasible. #2 certainly sounds more fun.
One of the best things you could do would be to look at the CVs of those who are currently at the WB, IMF, or whatever, and see what path they took. This is sort of a "revealed" measure of how these organizations hire people. (I don't know if that actually makes any sense, but I think econ people get the idea.) Cheers, Bill |
