also waiting for NYU...

I think only a very few people have heard from NYU, the vast majority have not, (including me), so I think we all need to wait longer for that one.
Columbia sent out acceptances by email and rejections by mail, (it was a beautiful letter by the way), so I am not sure why you haven't heard either way.
The rest I can't speak for.
Best of luck!
There is some information on NYU admission's policy in the following document:
http://www.nyu.edu/fas/GAP/GSAS/0102farhandbook.pdf
I have been admitted to NYU. I believe they make a first round of offers to 25 applicants or so in order to achieve a class size of 20. (Remember they fund all entering students.) When some people reject their offers, they contact the following one on the list according to the rules on that document.
I haven't heard from NW and this means obviously a reject. UPenn has not answered either. I believe something like NYU is happening there. I counted 12 admissions in thegradcafe, some with $. If for instance one out of three reports on that site, then 36 offers have already gone out. For those of us who haven't heard the probability of rejection is very high.

I contacted Penn and they said that not all of the decisions were made yet, and that they would be finishing decisions by Wednesday of this week. Ms. Quinn told me to email back on Wednesday. Although, given my wonderful streak so far, I am assigning a very low probability of being accepted.Originally Posted by zsla
The same response was given to me by NYU, that they would have word for me by either Tuesday or Wednesday of this week.
Going to UBC!
