I was wondering what your opinions on these programmes are; I've been accepted to both and am having difficulty making up my mind...i'd like to do a phd at a top 10 school in the states afterwards. what are your thoughts? thanks |

Dunt pick LSE dude....u ll regret..(assume u wanna attend Top tem afterwards
if u did....u ll get urself in deep ****..more competitor...much demanding coursework....worser grad......u name it....and u know the consequences...and u ll not get in LSE PhD either pick Oxford...less demanding..higher grad....2 years....apply the 2nd yr......u dunt get in...u can do thy Doctor in Oxford..which is pretty good...and they wont screen u out unless u ve done very bad... Choice is yours |

It's a no brainer... go to LSE
I was an undergrad at a top 5 and will get my PhD at a top 5 and most of the smart kids that I know that wanted to take a break from the US for a couple of years went to LSE. They all agree that the Mathematical Economics degree gives you a great background that will allow you to dominate all the technical skills you need to succeed in the coursework of any PhD program and also to do great research. Good luck. |

what is the size of each program?
duration? cost? (in case you do not get aid in your first top-5 Econ PhD) number of professors in your field? (what are the chances for a good dissertation?) how do the courses compare? when are the course exams? when do you want to apply for PhD? -> will any prof know you by then? -> will you have any grades by then? what are the conditions for advancing to the PhD? (in case you want to stay) I am wondering if sending an email to the professors that you are interested in, in each program, will help you see if they are accessible or not.
