    good luck
I have a question on the funding of Penn. So no first year funding means even tuition is not covered? So it is about 30K + the first year. Then the rest are guaranteed?

Start wondering what the attrition rate is.....

What if I get admission but no first year funding after all these waiting? UPenn w/o 1st year vs Wisc-Madison with fellowship?~

IMHO, that's completely out of line. They know the April 15th deadline, and as far as I'm aware, they've signed into the agreement. I'm actually a little disgusted with Penn over this whole process. It seems to me that they really don't have their act together administratively. I still have yet to hear anything from them - so either I've been waitlisted or rejected. Either way, with 9 days until April 15th, and no communication from the dept whatsoever....I think they've handled things rather unprofessionally.

Snappy, I couldn't agree with you more. (By the way my reject in Penn is just a deduction. The graduate secretary didn't explicitely say it. She just gave me the "a letter is coming" e-mail.)
    Going to: NYU (Econ)

I emailed the grad secretary earlier this week and got the unofficial rejection. She said that the rejection letters are in the mail and should be received by the end of this week. I already knew mine was coming, I just wanted to get it out of the way, so I could send an acceptance with a clear conscience.

She actually sent me two emails. The first time she told me to wait, cuz it was in the mail. Then, about two minutes later, she sent me another email telling me that I was out. I guess she just felt bad for me or something lol. At least she was nice about it, so even though it was my dream school, I don't feel too dejected.

well, the week has ended and still no word from Penn (like the grad secretary claimed). this is starting to get down right rediculous.

Yeah, they flat-out suck. I'm inclined to call my credit card company and ask for a refund...

So for those on the waitlist, there's still hope. How about those who have not heard any news?

hmm...i'm just curious...can we ask for a refund if we're totally not informed of any decision after say, end of april? i think it's fair enough right? shelling out 50 bucks for application fees should cover at least a rejection email or letter...
