Business School Econ Programs
I have been looking at econ PhD programs with the final goal of a consulting career, and I am curious about business school programs, such as HBS's Business Economics, Berkeley's Business & Policy, NYU Stern's Econ, etc. Has anyone here applied to or attended this type of program? Any general impressions? I’m most curious about how these differ from arts & sciences programs in admissions and research practices. Thanks.

I'm planning on applying to some business school Ph.D programs in the fall...
From looking at the different websites, it seems to me the main things that differentiate business school Ph.D's from regular econ programs is the lower student/faculty ratio (most of the time the professors outnumber the students) and the greater flexibility in the programs, due to fewer required courses. |
