Preparation for MWG and Ljungqvist/Sargent
Hello all.. I am about to attend a graduate program where they use Mas-Colell/Whinston/Green for first year micro and Ljungqvist/Sargent for first year macro.. What are the best ways to prepare for these two books (in terms of mathematics especially)?
I have never taken a math course during my entire undergrad education.. I am comfortable with calculus, linear algebra, differential equations, and a tiny little bit of analysis (single-variable, no metric space, no normed space, no lebesgue, no no no), but nothing else.. ![]() ![]() ![]() help! |

Descartes, I don't know how it is possible not to take any math classes and get admitted to a grad school. What is the ranking of the school, what range (top 10, 20 or .....).
However due to the urgency if ur are not busy and not short of money I would suggest a summer math classes at a community college just to save u some money. However if u don see that feasible, you can pick up Schaum's "Outline series on Calculus or mathematical economics Probability and statistics or u can just buy Greene's book I think the first three chapters talk about probability and linear algebra. But I will say picking up the Schaum's series since they are inexpensive. U wight wanna get started on few Linear algebra concepts.
