I just had my graduate scholarship interview before 2 days ago. I can't say that I was SUPER, but the others were just like me, we were all at the same level. However, for some reason, one of the interviewers thought that I was nervous and also one of the participants said that I did well but I was nervous! Actually, I don't think that I was nervous, but I usually take things very seriously and I tend to act seriously and just can't relax like the others when I am dealing with something that is top serious for me. I usually, in normal hours, tend to make gestures and fast movements. So the problem is that this how I am usually. But unfortunately, the admission committee has no idea about that! And when my interview was over, I didn't receive the word" Excellent" meanwhile the other two participants after me took it :-(. Does all that mean anything? The interview was just 15 minutes, and it end up very quickly. However, I just want to know from the experiences of others and want to know what kind of impact an interview has on one's admission.
I wasn't very perfect in my answers, but the others weren't too. We all had some stupid answers and some good answers. I think what was good in my answer that they were straightforward. Meanwhile some of the others weren't that way. Because I was applying for an MBA scholarship, I was kinda boastful. But, I also didn't give some direct answer to their questions; I was manipulative in my answers. Anyways, I got the feeling that they didn't like me, coz I just received a "Thank you". Anyways, some participants told me that I did well. And I dunno if they really meant it. However, I am nervous right now, and I just don't know what to do. Should I send a THANK YOU letter to the admission committee? Just to show that I have professional manners and etc?
Sometimes, I think I will get admission and sometimes I just think that I would receive a SORRY letter.
Need to hear from your experiences and what you guys think about interviews and how serious they are.
