Hey guys!
I was thinking this morning about a better way to administer this part of the Discussion Groups, since the material posted here would be of a more sensitive nature than any other part of the Groups. I thought that I could make this part of the Groups by invitation only. My idea is this: I would like to create a place where serious people could help each other, but not make their somewhat private information widely available to anybody on the Internet, as are most of the other parts of the Groups. To join this part of the Groups, you would be required to submit your vital academic info (with such other irrelevant stuff as your name, age, sex, and other info optional) AND at least one draft of an admissions essay. I would then evaluate that info and decide whether or not to admit these people into the group. The idea is that I could prevent flakes (not-serious people) from exploiting the resource. Of course, TM regulars such as Raghuveer, Arti, Lee Shi, Daniela, et al, would be under little or no scrutiny. What do you guys think of this system? Any suggestions or feedback?? I'd like to know. This is in fact a very good idea Erin. Actually i thought of posting my essay and asking your comment, but the same thought came to my mind, that a lot of people will read it. So, this idea is a perfect one.

I agree with you, but unfortunately I became a member a few days ago and I wrote my first message in the morning introducing myself.
A few minutes ago I found out that the site has information about admission essays. Too bad, ha?! I need to send my application ASAP, I had thought to send it tomorrow but then I found the information on the site. Now I am applying for the LL.M program (Master for Foreign Lawyers) at the Univ. of Minnesota. I wrote my essay and I think it is okay but of course, others opinions would be more then welcome. I don't know how frequently you check the forum; maybe everyday since it is your dream. However, I won't send my application this week and I am waiting for a favor from you. Don't worry, I will return your favor, I will help you write the book and I can assure you that I have ideas that you have never thought about. Remember, I still need to take the Toefl. Anyway, I am just kidding. If you are okay with this , please let me know so that I can send you my personal statement. If for some reason you are not okay with it, don't worry, I will understand.
