Hello all,
My name is Nadia. I graduated from the Illinois Institute of Technology with a B.S in Electrical Engineering in May 2002. My undergraduate GPA was low unfortunately due to very tough professors and some foolish mistakes. It was 2.7 (2.3 during my last 2 years ). I have given the GRE twice to improve my scores. Old scores: Verbal: 490, Quantitative: 580, Analytical: 5.5 New scores: Verbal 630, Quantitative: 730, Analytical: 5.5 still. I wanted to know how much my good GRE score can compensate for my poor undergraduate GPA? I have applied to only 2 schools, Northern Illinois University(applied at 2 depts, IE and EE) and Louisiana State University(applied at only EE dept). What are my chances of getting admission? I know for a fact that NIU is not very selective. LSU is a bit more selective. How much will my GRE help? i have only some on campus tutoring work experience. My statement of purpose was good I feel, and I have 3 letters of recommendations too. How much do GRE scores matter? Any opinions/advice would be much appreciated. Thank you all. Sincerely, Nadia ![]() |
