Hi everyone,

I've been reading this forum for several months and it has been extremely helpful. I would appreciate your help in understanding my chances of getting into a MS program in Southern California.

My scores are:
Q790
V540
AWA = pending
CS Subject Test = pending

I graduated about 5 months ago and have been working for a large aeronautical company. I also had several internships while in college.

I'm going to apply to USC, UCLA, UCSD, UCI, and UCSB. Do I have a good chance of getting in? Any suggestions of other places to apply?

Thanks for all your help

Great scores. I would imagine that you would be competitive. The best thing to do is to visit their website and look under their FAQ section. They should show how many applications they receive and how many students they select each year. Also they usually show the average or cutoffs for GRE scores.

Hope This Helps!

Thx for the response psyoutlaw. I appreciate your input.

I've been reading several other forums and noticed that many others have scored much higher than me on their verbal. Is the verbal section a critical part for a CS major? Anyone information on this would be greatly appreciated.

Nope... it is not. You should concentrate on your GRE CS... It's definitely much much much more important than your V score.
