HI Everybody,

Ive got a mail today morning stating that Ive been considered for admission into the PhD program in Sociology in UCLA....

Im feeling elated now...

I must express my heartiest gratitude to you ppl here who had always been sources of inspiration.

Hi hmjp,

It is great to hear your news. I am also from DU from Microbiology. So, it always helps one to believe in oneself to find one as having success within the fraternity.

u r right. I had been suffering from low confidence....and here is the outcome !!! so, I must tell u not to get tensed too much. u will make it, too.

I think, except few programs i.e. econ, CS, or MBA, most programs are still within reach for people with moderate-to-low scores in GRE and TOEFL. Although Im immensey indebted to this forum, I got frustrated about amission into the top 10 with my low GRE score (1210). I believe there are many others who also succeeded with not-so-stellar profile, but do not show up here.

So, my suggestion to people with low scores like me should not get disheartened about thier prospect. Keep trying on the last bit of opportunity to improve other parts of the application package.
