To the post above, first of all, keep in mind I am an American applicant, so the situation may be different, I don't know.
To be honest, I wouldn't hold out too much hope. I was accepted at the end of January as well and they sent me a letter several weeks ago that said they did not have financial aid for me (they said they only had 27 packages and I'm willing to bet they accepted at least 40-50 people). I would recommend emailing the graduate coordinator because it's likely they've made the decision and have maybe just delayed sending out some letters. And I hear you on the low subject test; I think that's what killed me too. |

I more or less know about this type of situations, but you don't have to take this as an advice of course. Keep in mind that sometimes they accept very early because they have a large numbers of spots and need TA's to fill in those, and that sort of thing needs planification. If your GRE subject was so low, I honestly don't think they evaluate you that high, and also none of you (especially the american applicant) mentioned of being offered a fellowship, which usually the strongest applicants get. And finally, no financial offer, for me at least, is the same as rejection. Anyways, ask the department and good luck!

A useful resource http://www.ams.org/employment/asst.pdf
You'll find information about stipends, number of doctorates awarded, requirements, etc. Useful to know and compare between different places (Although some schools are not listed). Check it out! |

Thank you very much, buckyball, I got an offer from a university at east coast, which is one of the good place to do geometry. Actually it is out of my expectation that they offered me an extremely good finanical aid.
I was rejected by the University of Washington. By the way, do you have an offer and what field you are planning to do? After having the offer, I think graduate study heavily relies on personal connection. I got rejected by worse schools. Anyway, I hope you can get an offer from the university you want. Good luck. |

I don't have a specific field by now. It might be interrelated between algebra and analysis or something. I have two more to wait for, UCSD and Penn State. But I've heard that UCSD doesn't afford to fully fund an international student. So, another hope for me is at Penn State. However, UW seems to be more preferable for me.
Anyway, good luck with your graduate study then. |

Hello! I applied via regular mail to the NYU Math Graduate Program. I don't live in the USA, and regular mail is very slow in my country. However, I logged in at the NYU's GSAS's Supporting Materials Tracking System and they are asking me for my Candidate reply form, my tuition deposit and my final and official transcript. Does this mean I got accepted?

If I were you I'd call them on Monday morning. NYU has a stupid policy of admitting a bunch of students w/o any aid.
Though it is extremely unlikely that they admitted you w/o sending you an email. Never heard that before. Good luck! |
