I have applied Berkeley, Northwestern, Northeastern, UT Austin, Boston, Michigan, Notre Dame, Pennsylvania, Washington, Toronto and three universities in Britain. (I guess you are not interested in the universities in Britain.)

I got rejected by Berkeley and got an unofficial rejection from Northwestern. Others are unknown.

If you had applied any of the universities listed above, can you share any (new) information that you have?

    thanks!!

I also applied Notre Dame, they just sent an offer of applied math, but still no news about pure math.

deadskunk.....do u have more information which you can tell us?.....
say how many are admitted this year...
what is the average score...or other things you may let us know?....
    thanks!
I don't know the average GRE, but 860 seems high to me. I know of at least one person on the admitted list who was well out of the top decile. Aside from that, I don't know more except that the decisions were made a week ago today. I also don't know how many applicants they accepted this year, but my source (a grad student there) said it's usually about 40. I'll probably be declining Penn since I have other offers, but I would like to just see the financial packages from the various places first.

40 is quite a large number. Congrat you for having better offer(s)...

well, talking about GRE, I never believe public exams. Of course there are counterexamples that admitted students with exceptionally good scores do worse during their studies. I am not going to quote it here.

Of course I know the committee doesn't only look at the score. But for top universities, it seems that the score is served to be a filter. (I talk about the GRE because I am angry with my bad score.)

Anyway, thank you for telling us a lot.

I applied to Cornell, Washington, UCSD, and Penn State. Got rejected from Cornell. So sad...

    Hi guys,

I have been admitted to Stony-Brook, UIUC and Indiana University in pure math.
I am waiting for response from Purdue?

Anyone knowing anything about Purdue? Are they sending out responses? Any info on this is appreciated ...

Some of my friends got into Purdue way back in mid-January...

How did they get admitted to Purdue in January, if the deadline for application documents is February the 1st at this university?

Well, it seems Yale is sending waves of rejection. Nobody appears to have been accepted, at least no accepted yet in the gradcafe.

    Check this out http://www.yale.edu/graduateschool/a...ofile/math.htm
Wish other schools also posted detailed information about their programs.
