I wouldn't bet on rejection just yet. For some schools, it has taken a number of hours for all of the emails to go out. However, I am under the impression that Penn makes all of its decisions at once and does not keep a waitlist.

Hi, everyone, I'm the one posting being wait listed by Yale on gradcafe. Anyone know if they want to admit 6 students, how many offer would have been sent out? If I was told that my rank in the wait list is "very high", what is the chance that I will have an offer from them by 15 April.
I also have an offer from UMich. I heard Yale's reputation for math is not so good - at least in my university. Any opinions? |

got rejected by UPenn, as the posts said, strong competition.
Quite sad because I think if it is not because of GRE, I may have a good chance. Anyway, waiting for the remaining universities. Well, who knows about Boston, Northeastern, Michigan, Notre Dame, UT Austin, Toronto and Washington? I guess just few of you know these since most of you in here got offers from better places. |

buckyball, GRE Math is really a big matter for graduate school. Although I am also one of the ones who hates GRE (both general and subject tests).
Profs will look at your GRE. Unless you have some other factors to complement the low GRE score, otherwise it is highly unlikely that they will give you an offer. I am one of the victims. If you have a great score, that's good. Otherwise you have to depend on your luck. (I am also saying this to me.) |
