Ancalagon The Black is on the way!
I would second CalmLogic. Going to a reputed institution does not mean that you would always get more ROI. I would think that an internship is always available for those who are smart enough to get them.

It is also not quite true that companies would ignore foreign students. Under such circumstances, I would suggest getting an internship at TCS, InfoSys or Wipro IN the US. They will always gladly take fellow Indians.

I should clarify, the 87K is a for MIS students with previous work experience of about 5 years. Freshers get anything from 60K to 90K - depending upon the company and the situation and the special skills. I would also recommend you to do certifications as CalmLogic suggests. I am already a MCSD and a SCJP and am trying to fool around with SAP (its very expensive) I am also waiting for the right time to do PMI certification since I am very interested in IT project management.

Also, remember, the other programs are way expensive, not only in tuition terms but also in cost of living. In TAMU, you can live like a king by doing 20 hours of work but you WILL NOT be able to do the same in Ann Arbor or Pittsburgh.

CalmLogic 's dreams are becoming reality.
Another reason to avoid expensive tuition:

High-tech visa scramble relies on luck of draw -- Employees, California, Wipro Limited -- chicagotribune.com

I had no idea there were so many H1B applicants even with master's degrees.
