What are my chances?? HELP!!!!!!
Hi guys,
Glad I found this forum. I'd love to hear advices from you regarding my admissions plan, both + and - comments are greatly appreciated. GPA: 3.7 GRE Subject 95%tile GRE General: TBD (PP scores 1520 and 1540) Research - 3 full years with 2 1st author papers and another one being submitted during summer. I plan to apply to biomedical sciences (most likely cell biology) at the following schools: Harvard, Stanford, Yale, MIT, Caltech, UCSF, Baylor, Penn, Columbia, Cornell and Hopkins. What do you think? I personally don't want to settle for anything less, but if you think I should add some "safety" schools I'd love to hear them. GB |

Apply for some schools in top 40, top 50 and even i as you can easily get good scholarship there, and also TAs and RAs.
Getting scholarships in good universities is tough as they get LOTS of great people like you!! ![]() Moreover, If you want to apply for PhD, then safe schools are a MUST. As competition for PhD's is very tough, and all applicants are GREAT!! I know a guy who had around 3-4 nice papers in EE all published in International conference, applied for PhD in good universities only with nice GRE and GPA, and was rejected by ALL!! Poor guy!! |
