Information abt application

Hi guys!
My name is Ali and i am looking to apply for the september 2009 session in the U.S or canada. I have been preparing for the GRE for about less than a month and i plan to undertake it within 2 months hopefully! Now i just want to make this thread bcoz of the several questions i have:

1. Can anyone por favor, El Señor help me what is the ideal time for giving GRE for the september 09 session because i dont want to be late in my application for the overseas student.when should i register

2. I am a chemical engineer and want to pursue my further education in the same field so what is the ideal way of singling out the colleges because its a whole stream of options out there

and finally some international students por favor, El Señor can u help me in preparing GRE i mean to say share thy xperience and tell what to do
