    Can someone answer these analogies.

I don't have the OA to the below questions. However I have given my expected answer wherever possible.

    MEANDERING : DIRECTNESS
    a) menacing : ambition
    b) affable : permissiveness
    c) digression : conciseness
    d) circuitous : rotation
    e) aboveboard : openness

SPOILER: IMO answer is C. As MEANDERING lacks DIRECTNESS and digression lacks conciseness. This is the only option that seems relevant to me

    ALARM : TRIGGER
    a) prison : escape
    b) tunnel : dig
    c) criminal : corner
    d) fright : allay
    e) trap : spring

SPOILER: I think the answer is e. Trigger an Alarm. As spring a trap.

    LACHRYMOSE : TEARS
    a) effusive : requests
    b) ironic : jests
    c) morose : speeches
    d) profound : sighs
    e) verbose : words

    SPOILER: IMO answer is e.

    PLEAD : SUPPLIANT
    a) disperse : rioter
    b) shun : outcast
    c) revere : elder
    d) beg : philanthropist
    e) translate : interpreter

SPOILER: IMO answer is e. a suppliant pleads. An interpreter translates

    EPIGRAM : PITHY
    a) allegory : lengthy
    b) saga : heroic
    c) anecdote : humorous
    d) elegy : satiric
    e) proverb : modern

    SPOILER: IMO answer b

    BOLT : FABRIC
    a) lock : key
    b) book : paper
    c) roll : film
    d) elegy : satire
    e) proverb : modern

    SPOILER: IMO answer is c.

    INCUBATOR : INFANT
    a) henhouse : chicken
    b) greenhouse : plant
    c) archives : document
    d) cooler : wine
    e) hive : bee

SPOILER: I think the answer is b. i rejected the option c as documents are stored in archives. but plants are not actually stored in the greenhouse they are actually nourished and protected in a greenhouse as a baby is protected and nourished in an incubator.

    RANCID : TASTE
    a) tepid : temperature
    b) glossy : look
    c) rank : smell
    d) dulcet : sound
    e) savory : odor

SPOILER: IMO answer is C. Rancid test is bad test. as rank smell is bad smell

    TRUST : CLANDESTINE
    a) reverie : dreamy
    b) acquaintanceship : brief
    c) expectation : hopeless
    d) glance : resentful
    e) journey : leisurely

SPOILER: IMO answer is c. The stem words are antonym variant. And c has the words those seem antonym to each other. None of the other options seem relevant to me.

    Please reply.

In your first analogy--> MEANDERING : DIRECTNESS ,why it cant be "aboveboard : openness" Because something that is aboveboard, is honest and lacks openness.
Open means-->Susceptible; vulnerable: open to interpretation; an issue that is open to question
In case of "digression : conciseness" it is not necessary that digression lacks "conciseness". Statment can still be concise but it could digress, meaning not relevant to the main point.
    What others think?

    @rschunti

At first I also thought the same way you did. but I was confused about openness. I thought something honest is open so its openness. So after eliminating this option the next nearest option that seemed to be the answer was "digression : conciseness" thought its not necessary that a digression lacks conciseness.

Btw what about the rest of the questions?

As trigger causes alarm to go off similarly spring causes trap come into action (spring-->To release from a checked or inoperative position. spring a trap.).

Lachrymose is full of tears similarly verbose is full of words

Suppliant(Asking humbly and earnestly; beseeching) is to plead(To appeal earnestly) similarly outcast is an act of shunning someone

Epigram is a short pithy statement similarly anecdote (A short account of an interesting or humorous incident) is humorous.

BOLT (A large roll of cloth of a definite length, especially as it comes from the loom) similarly roll of film

greenhouse (A structure, primarily of glass, in which temperature and humidity can be controlled for the cultivation or protection of plants.) to plants similarly incubator is related to infant

RANCID is a bad TASTE similarly rank is a bad smell

Not sure on the last one

In the last one I think CLANDESTINE lacks TRUST (Because it is done in screte) similarly hopless lacks expectation.
