[Antonym] Alacrity

Hi folks, new here.. but nevertheless, am puzzled by an antonym question which i hope to be enlighten!

Alacrity:
A. kindness
B. recalcitrance
C. subservience
D. lack of direction
E. good intentions

alacrity is carrying out with eagerness and liveliness.

But the OA is something pretty shock (or i couldn't find the right reasoning)

What is your anwser and why?

It's B right? That's the best out of the 4. Kindness doesnt have negative connotation. Reclacitrance- Restrain which is what you are looking for since it means the opposite of liveliness. Subserviant- Just means inferior capacity. Uh put that aside Lack of direction- No! Not the best antonym. Def not E because your looking for a negative connotation to the positive definition.

BTW...It does help you to study thesaurus because it will make the analogies/antonyms so much easier!

yes, your answer is right.

Recalcitrance - trait of being unmanageable

It really didn't dawn on me. I chose subservient, because i thought it lacks eagerness by being subservient to others?

I still could not get the idea of 'being restraint' here..
